Medical Marvels Summer Class for Kids
Posted: June 3, 2015
Mayo Clinic Health System Registered Nurses Emily Westaby and Kimberly Strasburg will make a special guest appearance during one of the museum's weekly summer classes for children on Wednesday, June 24 from 10:00-11:30 am.
The class will give kids ages 6-12 the chance to explore the museum's Picture of Health exhibit to learn how people living in the Chippewa Valley stayed healthy in the past.
Westaby and Strasburg will join the students as they tour the exhibit and play a medical mysteries game to identify artifacts that were used by doctors or nurses in earlier times. They will also be on hand to help students make first aid kits, as a take-home project at the end of class. Supplies for the kits will be donated, courtesy of Mayo Clinic Health System.
For more information about the class, or to enroll, please contact Karen Jacobson at 715-834-7871 or k.jacobson@cvmuseum.com. Advanced registration is encouraged. This class will be held at the Chippewa Valley Museum located at 1204 Half Moon Drive in Eau Claire's Carson Park.
