Museums for All

A New Program for Chippewa Valley Museums Visitors

Museums for All is a nationwide program that provides reduced admission for visitors receiving food assistance (SNAP benefits) to more than 1200 museums around the United States by presenting an EBT card and a photo ID.

The Chippewa Valley Museum is one of those 1200 museums. CVM does not want the cost of admission to be a barrier for economically disadvantaged families. A museum visit can spark the development of new skills, new interests, and creativity. CVM is a place to be curious, seek connection, and be inspired. Director Carrie Ronnander reminds us that “Museums are good for communities. They bring people together and make people feel good. The Chippewa Valley Museums joined the Museums for All program so more people could enjoy all that our museum has to offer.”

Museums for All is an initiative of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), a federal agency based in Washington, DC. The initiative is administered by the Association of Children’s Museums through a cooperative agreement with IMLS. IMLS shared a recent experience The Wolf Museum of Discovery + Innovation in Santa Barbara, CA had:
