Holiday Toy Train Display

Posted: December 8, 2015

Visitors to the Chippewa Valley Museum this holiday season can marvel at a 384 square foot standard gauge toy train display decked out for the holidays! The display includes three tinplate trains, both originals from 1910-1940 and reproductions, whizzing around three separate triple tracks. The display also includes a toy dairy farm, Fort McCoy, log cabins, and more.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will make guest appearances from 1:00-3:00 pm with free candy canes for the children on the following dates:

Friday, November 27

Saturdays, November 28 and December 5, 12, 19, and 26

Tuesday, December 22 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm

Kids can also receive their own coloring book and conductor's hat during their visit, courtesy of Operation Lifesaver, and have some hands-on fun in our toy train play room.

The display opens Friday, November 27 from 1 to 5 p.m., and will be open through December 29 on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m., and Tuesday evenings from 5 to 8 p.m.

Admission to the special display on weekends is $9 for adults and $6 for kids ages 5 and up, and includes regular museum admission. On Tuesday evenings, admission is $2 per person, as regular museum admission is free. For members of the Chippewa Valley Museum, admission to the display is just $2 per person on any day.

Become members of the Chippewa Valley Museum when the trains are running and receive five FREE train rides at the Chippewa Valley Railroad in Carson Park next summer!

The Chippewa Valley Museum is located in Eau Claire's scenic Carson Park. The train display is presented by the Standard Gauge Module Association, the Chippewa Valley Rail Road Association, and Operation Lifesaver.
