Braided Wool Rug Classes
Posted: December 6, 2015
Learn the skills needed to create a beautiful braided wool rug at the Chippewa Valley Museum in Eau Claire's Carson Park this January.
Rug braider Beverly Ramey returns to instruct participants as they practice the steps, including preparing the materials and getting started, and braiding, lacing, and finishing the rug. Participants can have a good start on a small rug by the end of the workshop.
The workshop sessions will be held on three Saturdays in January, the 16th, 23rd and 30th. Classes run from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Participants can attend one to three sessions as desired. Participants must be age 12 or older, and know how to thread a needle.
Cost is $30 for museum members and $35 for non-members for all three sessions. Past Chippewa Valley Museum Rug Braiding participants can attend the sessions for just $15. Participants may use their own wool for the project, or they can purchase a wool kit directly from the instructor for an additional $25.
Contact Liz Reuter at 715-834-7871 or l.reuter@cvmuseum.com to register by Friday, January 8th. Class space is limited.
